Power you can read.
Veldris builds Midgard, the sovereign, open-source, post-quantum-encrypted platform for data and decisions. The kind of power our competitors sell in a black box, we publish as source.
Veldris
From Old Norse veldi, dominion, sovereign power, and rísa, to rise. Sovereign power, rising.
The name states the thesis: sovereignty is not something you are granted by a vendor. It is something you hold, your data, your models, your keys, on your hardware. Veldris exists to make that the default condition of serious computing.
Veldris was founded by JB Benjamin, previously founder of Kryotech and Djinn Technologies. Kryotech's post-quantum sealing work survives inside Midgard as the Seal action.
The anti-black-box
Palantir named itself after a seeing-stone that deceives whoever looks into it. Anduril named itself after a sword. Both sell power as mystique: closed systems, cleared personnel, trust us.
Veldris counter-positions on every axis. Open source instead of closed. Self-hosted instead of vendor-locked. Post-quantum encryption by default instead of compliance-later. Local inference instead of someone else's cloud. Where they say trust us, we say read the source.
Every claim carries its provenance. Algorithms are named, standards are cited, audit lineage is visible. If the interface can't show how it knows, it doesn't say it.
No core function requires an outbound call. The enclosure runs air-gapped; your keys never leave. Sovereignty is architecture, not a contract clause.
Norse names give the system a memorable shape; the specification does the talking. One mythic clause, then hard numbers, never the reverse.
Built to outlive us
Veldris plans in centuries, not quarters. That is why the core is open source under an OSI licence, why builds are reproducible with a signed SBOM per release, and why the cryptography assumes the computers of the 2040s, not the 1990s. A forever company doesn't ask for trust, it makes itself replaceable, and earns permanence by being worth keeping.
Midgard and the four products
Midgard is the enclosure, the defended trust boundary providing identity, the object fabric, storage, compute, governance and post-quantum crypto. Four products stand on it, each independently useful, compounding together.
Midgard
Core platform. The enclosure itself.
Forge
Data operations. vs Foundry.
Mimir
Local agentic AI on GLM 5.2. vs AIP.
Bifrost
Continuous delivery. vs Apollo.
Heimdall
Operational fusion. vs Maven.
How to use this design system
Start with Identity, Color and Type for the visual language, then Components and Data viz for product work. Voice governs every word.
Link styles.css for all tokens, read Tokens for CSS variables and usage code, and consume the React components in components/. Both themes ship; toggle with data-theme="dark".
