Veldris Ltd was incorporated on 28 July 2026 by JB Benjamin, previously founder of Kryotech and Djinn Technologies, and James Bowater, founder of Crypto AM and The Digital Commonwealth. The thesis was set before the company existed: sovereignty is not something a vendor grants you, it is something you hold. The post-quantum sealing demonstrated at consumer scale in Kryotech's Vox Messenger survives inside the platform as the Seal action.

The build moved fast and in the open. Within its first month the company registered with the ICO as a data controller and passed Cyber Essentials with the whole organisation in scope. On 21 September the midgard-app repository went public under Apache-2.0: the specification, the design system and a 62-crate Rust implementation, verified by a 72-of-72 acceptance run executed fully air-gapped. Seven layers, one enclosure: Midgard Core, Forge, Bifrost, Mimir, Heimdall, Gungnir and Forseti.

The founding team pairs the builders with the operators: JB Benjamin (chief executive), James Bowater (chief strategy), Alan Boyd (chief technology, Meritas), Microsoft's first product development manager, and Luke Kovic (commercial director). They are joined by Deepak Jassal as chief operating officer and Filip Talac as chief information security officer.

Governance arrived with the same seriousness as the code. The non-executive board is chaired by Jonathan Berry, Viscount Camrose, the UK's first Minister for Artificial Intelligence, alongside Janet Adams (co-CEO of Zarqa, author of finance's first AI Conduct Framework), António Beja (partner and CIO at Consensus Capital), Dr. Barry Childe (co-founder and former CISO of Arqit Quantum) and The Lord Ranger of Northwood (House of Lords Science and Technology Committee, Chair of the Digital Policy Alliance).
